City Hall Renovation

Municipal

Lavallee Brensinger Architects renovated both City Hall and the Annex Building (formerly Manchester’s District Court) to provide state-of-the-art office and public assembly space within these historic buildings. The design solution included: reconstruction of the original Tower Staircase; an enlarged Aldermanic Chambers (relocated to its original third floor location); a new entry connector allowing internal access between all City Departments; a new exterior entry and garden court; total replacement of all mechanical, electrical, life safety, security and communications systems; accessibility to all Departments; and restoration of exterior brick and granite. The building is also the bearer of Manchester’s first green roof.
