Primary & Intermediate Schools

As part of the Town’s multi-phased K-12 rejuvenation project, the K-5 Dr Lewis F Soule Elementary School was designed to accommodate an occupied-phased renovation and new additions. This single-story school fits seamlessly with the scale of the adjacent single-family residences, using similar scale elements and massing strategies.

Existing educational space was transformed into 21st century learning environments. This “Bring Your Own Device” technology-rich solution combines the existing school structure with completely new systems, allowing for “Anytime-Anywhere” learning. New entrance and administration space provides an inviting area that is both safe and secure. New multipurpose Physical Education (PE) space accommodates physical education, performances, student assemblies, and off-hour community use. A new library provides media-rich student exploration space and faculty training space.

The vision equally prioritized the educational environment with rejuvenating the existing structure and maximizing energy-efficiency.
