Michael Niehaus

With over 30 years of experience in healthcare design, Mike Niehaus has been designing evidence-based healing and healthcare environments. Mike’s first love of architecture was religious architecture (High Gothic) influenced by his growing up in Europe. It was religious architecture’s historical and collective significance as common places that represented each community’s ethos and values to each other, and the outside world influenced him to go into architecture, leading him to healthcare design. Creating spaces for comfort and support continues to influence his approach to designing healing spaces, viewing modern-day healthcare facilities as our community’s place to demonstrate our ethos of compassion, empathy, and how we care for each other (and occasionally perform miracles!).
