St. Mary's Bank
Lavallee Brensinger Architects was hired to design the historic bank’s new corporate headquarters and branch facility. The result is a current and progressive design that also conveys the importance of the bank’s heritage.
To address the provisions of a contemporary bank, the new facility is welcoming, environmentally friendly, and has abundant natural light. It utilizes transparency and common spaces to promote a sense of community among members, staff, and management. In the financial interest of the members, the new building is practical in its layout, efficient in its use of space and energy, and durable in its construction. The new building reclaims the corner of McGregor Street and Amory Street and stand as a welcoming presence for Manchester’s West side. Surrounded by a vehicle-dominant site, the new building and landscape create an inviting “place” for people, and reinforce connections to the neighborhood. The resulting facility is an authentic landmark that captures the character of St. Mary’s Bank, and promotes the bank as a responsible, relevant, and significant regional institution for years to come.
