Concord Hospital
Linear Accelerator

Acute Care

The Payson Cancer Center at Concord Hospital replaced one of their existing linear accelerators to upgrade the vault interior aesthetic and increase operational efficiency. With tight existing vault storage space and low ceilings, the design team had to be creative in its approach to finding storage space. The resulting design needed to feel light and airy, consistent with the current feel of the cancer center.

Existing wood wall panels, in good condition, provided a soft, natural feel to the vault and were left in place. Framing a custom image and hiding equipment and supplies, large wood and glass sliding doors were added at the back of the gantry. A custom backlit Skyfactory skylight, framed in matching wood panels, tied the entire space together and created a dramatic centerpiece for the room.
