Lavallee Brensinger Architects was hired to design a new library for the Town of North Hampton. As part of the initial planning process, the town retained Lavallee Brensinger to create a new Town Campus; including the design of a new Fire/Police Safety Center and a combined Library, Cultural Center, and Town Office building.

The site includes the historic Stone Building, the original pre-1900 library that has been repurposed to serve as community space, and the historic Town Meeting Hall. Both structures are registered with the National Park Service as historic places.

Multiple community design charrettes were held to determine the new exterior design. The result combines a New England-style image and the local vernacular language to create a “small town feel.”
