Wadleigh Memorial Library
Wadleigh Library

Civic + Cultural | Municipal:

After several years of working with other architects, Lavallee Brensinger was asked to join the Trustees in their mission to bring the Wadleigh Library into the 21st century. Re-building the library in phases on the existing library footprint will rejuvenate all library services and resources.

The 21,000 sf will include new, small group space, large meeting space, and flexible areas to accommodate and support 21st century connectivity. New and robust wireless access will add connectivity to global resources, while a dedicated business incubator, themed children’s space, a maker space, and outdoor courtyard areas, are all enhanced by ubiquitous technology and tools to meet today’s educational and recreational needs.

Children, tweens, and teens will enjoy dedicated reading space, craft and story-telling areas, tutoring and homework space; all specifically designed to evolve with future programs and services. This was the most cost-effective; in both up-front costs and future operational costs.
