Interior Renovations
Workplace:
Primex continually evolves to meet the needs of its members. Over the course of more than 30 years, its headquarters in Concord, NH, reflected this ethos. In 2009, Lavallee Brensinger designed a LEED Silver expansion, doubling the size of the existing facility. In 2014, Lavallee Brensinger transformed the basement into a state-of-the-art, flexible training space known as The Foundry. By 2019, it was clear that the rest of the interior needed a major update to accommodate an increasingly mobile and training-focused workforce.
Staff workspaces were relocated upstairs to create a more secure and efficient environment. This area is surrounded by phone booths, reading rooms, chat rooms, flex spaces, conference rooms, and other collaboration zones. The relocation allowed the entire ground floor to be dedicated to member training. These lower-level spaces feature a variety of teaching environments and amenities connected by a continuous, accessible loop. Completing this loop, exterior improvements included a new bridge, providing a seamless transition to outdoor gathering spaces. Tranquil and serene, the space features a firepit, grill, and native plantings, creating an ideal setting for hosting outdoor events for members and staff.
