Healthcare Studio Leader
Rich is the CEO of Lavallee Brensinger Architects and brings over 20 years of experience, remarkable enthusiasm, and passion for healthcare design. He has successfully managed projects of all sizes, with a focus on innovative design solutions, clear communications, and effective schedule and cost controls. Rich's thoroughness and attention to detail are invaluable on project teams. Rich holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University.
Chris is the President of Lavallee Brensinger Architects and oversees the Education Group. As a champion of excellent design, Chris guides teams for the advancement of sustainability and innovation. As an engaged leader, he ensures projects have the full talent and resources of the firm necessary for success, with the goal of exceeding client expectations. His passion and commitment guide project teams to discover solutions that empower clients to make a difference for our future, and the lives of many!
Chris holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of NY at Buffalo and a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Hartford.
Steve offers over 30 years of healthcare planning and design experience and is a senior member of Lavallee Brensinger’s Healthcare Design Group. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Architects, is a Lean Certified Healthcare planner, and has led the planning team for many of the firm’s most notable assignments.
Steve founded Optimal-Use, a consulting group within Lavallee Brensinger that focuses on the analysis of healthcare process and space. His work has helped healthcare institutions improve process and optimize utilization of space resources.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University and attended The Architectural Association (London), Special Studies.
Joe is one of our Vice Presidents and a senior member of Lavallee Brensinger’s Healthcare Design Group. For more than 32 years, his singular professional focus has been healthcare planning and design. His commitment and passion for patient-centered care brings insight and current knowledge to each project.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Barbara spearheads Lavallee Brensinger Architect’s commitment to technical excellence. For more than 30 years she has led and supported our project teams with building code analysis, specifications, and technical document review. Notably, Barbara has combined her formal education in both Architecture and Civil/Structural Engineering with extensive handson construction experience, enabling her to understand both technical requirements and practical applications. Her diligence and attention to detail have helped to build and sustain our firm’s valued reputation for high quality documentation and project cost management.
Barbara holds a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of New Hampshire.
Civic Studio Leader
Bob is a member of the firm's Education and Civic studios, with over 35 years of national practice experience. Bob has extensive experience in the planning, programming, and design of educational facilities and civic projects, and has lead and managed the design of over two million square feet of new and renovated space. Bob also brings a wealth of experience in the restoration, renovation, and adaptive re-use of historically significant structures.
Bob holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Pennsylvania Design and Historic Preservation and a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Corporate Studio Leader
Paul is an award winning architect and interior designer who has spoken at national conferences and has had his work published in Architectural Record, Martha Stewart Living, Maine Home+Design, Design New England, Floor Focus, and Marie Claire magazines. An excellent facilitator, Paul brings a collaborative approach to each project, engaging clients and users in a thoughtful and creative design process. His holistic approach simultaneously focuses on multiple design considerations including budget, user experience, and overall aesthetics, helping clients successfully achieve their goals.
Paul is the President Elect of the IIDA New England chapter and holds a Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Science/Building Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
K-12 Studio Leader
Lance has 17 years specializing in the design of educational environments, educational programming, long range planning and complex implementation. He is creative and passionate about education and design, with a strong belief that beautiful, enlightened, educational environments are critical to the purpose they serve. Lance is a thoughtful listener and someone who easily engages faculty, staff, and constituents.
He has a long-standing reputation for exceptional client service, quality control and unsurpassed project management. Lance holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Oklahoma State University.
Ginger leads the firms' Science and Research Lab Planning and Design. She believes that successful projects are defined by active listening and proactive engagement. Throughout her career, she has applied her extensive knowledge across multiple architectural project types ranging from healthcare, medical education, and clinical facilities to college and university teaching and research facilities as well as corporate biotech, pharmaceutical and research laboratories.
Ginger holds a Master of Architecture degree from Tulane University and majored in Industrial Design at the University of the Arts in Philladelphia, PA.
Senior Living Studio Leader
Joan Eagleson is a seasoned healthcare Programmer and Planner with more than 30 years of experience and specialized expertise in Behavioral Health and Senior Living design. She works to create environments that allow staff the ability to provide an excellent level of care, and for patients and families to feel safe and comfortable.
Earlier this year Joan chaired “Safe Therapeutic Environments.” This event provided a forum for clinicians, administrators, facility managers, architects, contractors, policy specialists and industry product experts to collaborate in an effort to usher in real, thoughtful change that will influence future outcomes of behavioral healthcare treatments.
Joan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Technology from the New York Institute of Technology.
For nearly 25 years, Keith has developed an approach to healthcare planning and design that is focused on delivering creative solutions sensitive to patients, families, clinicians and staff. With an eye toward strategic organizational goals and long term planning needs, Keith provides innovative, yet appropriate and implementable designs. He facilitates an open, honest, and inclusive interchange of ideas between all stakeholders; serving as a guide and advocate in the best interests of each client.
Keith holds a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ron has more than 25 years experience in the visioning, planning, programming, and design of educational places and spaces. He leads the planning and design process for clients, with a focus on innovation, creativity, and sustainability for a long- lasting value. He listens to specific needs of each client, engages the local community, assists in fundraising efforts, and composes meaningful design solutions leading to community-centric environments that inspire life-long learning.
Ron is a certified educational facility planner and sits on the Northeast Regional Board of Directors for the Association for Learning Environments (formerly CEFPI) and is the President of A4LE’s New England Chapter. Ron holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Roger Williams University and an Advanced Certificate in Educational Facility Planning from San Diego State University.
Barry joined the firm in 1978. Healthcare planning and design have been his professional focus for more than 35 years. Barry has been repeatedly honored as a community leader through his dedicated work with various not-for-profit organizations. Under his guidance, the firm’s Healthcare Design Group has become the most experienced healthcare planning and design team in New England.
Barry holds a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts in Design from Dartmouth College.
Fred came to the practice in 1982, sharing his enthusiasm for educational planning and design and a commitment to civic leadership. Fred reaches out, not only through architectural design, but through community engagement, to consistently deliver the message that education is a powerful tool for achievement. His designs integrate sustainability and technology into spaces that empower learning.
With over 25 years experience, John has managed a variety of projects throughout the Northeast. As the firm’s most experienced Project Manager, John has a unique depth of experience and skills that has consistently led to delivering successful projects. Intimately engaged with the project from the very first design session to the day the key to the front door is given to the owner, John’s focus on each project includes listening to all constituent groups, then fostering a design process and built environment that embodies each project’s unique technological and artistic vision.
He is highly regarded by clients for his thorough attention to detail, effective project management style, and wonderful sense of humor. John holds a Bachelors degree from Boston Architectural Center.
Jeff specializes in healthcare planning and design, and is an instrumental team leader with excellent project management skills. He is one of Lavallee Brensinger’s 14 LEED® Accredited Professionals and lends his experience to many of our sustainable projects. His attention to detail, outstanding client service, and disciplined management of tasks and budget allow him to consistently deliver successful projects. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Norwich University.
Danielle Santos is a seasoned Project Manager with more than 15 years of experience and expertise in healthcare design. She has worked with a wide variety of clients creating environments that allow for an excellent level of care and service. On each project, Danielle strives to design facilities that are safe, comforting, and efficient. Danielle holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University School of Architecture.
Melissa directs the firm's proposal and interview process and collaborates with senior management in marketing strategy, business development and strategic planning. With 10 years as a certified professional educator and a true passion for teaching, Melissa serves as our in-house educational consultant.
Melissa holds a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Education from Simmons College, a Master of Science degree in Business Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University.
Michelle is an established financial and accounting professional with over twenty-five years of finance and accounting experience. Leading the financial operations of the firm, Michelle enjoys establishing and maintaining accounting systems. Michelle oversees all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards and principles.
Michelle holds a Master of Business Administration degree, with a Certificate in International Business from Southern New Hampshire University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting from Rivier University.
Kathi is an experienced marketing and business development professional in the A/E industry. She has a long history as a community volunteer and prides herself in being a part of the solution.
Kathi holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from California State University Northridge.
As Business Development Manager, Susan will a focus on serving our metro Boston and greater Massachusetts clients and industry partnerst. Her professional background includes business development, publishing, technical writing, product development, R&D, and consumer relations in the engineering/architecture, consumer packaged goods, and solar industries.
Susan is a graduate of Colorado State University.
Carmine ensures each of our projects, from start to finish, are guided by experienced technical oversight and a deliberate Quality Control process. Carmine carefully reviews documents during each phase of project development for technical accuracy, conformance with Owner’s building standards, and constructibility; determination of applicable codes and regulations and related analysis; participation in meetings with regulatory authorities; material research and specifications; and team consultations regarding technical details. Carmine holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Christina is an accomplished professional Interior Designer serving a wide range of public and private clients. She brings a wealth of knowledge and insight for implementing design strategies that enhance our client’s overall experience and user group interaction. Christina offers unique ways to integrate finish materials, colors, way-finding, and acoustics into a fun and sustainable interior design process. As a LEED® accredited professional, all her projects consider sustainable materials and long-term value. Christina is also very involved with the community, serving as a Board Member for the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester.
Christina holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from the University of Kentucky.
Steve joined Lavallee Brensinger Architects in 2013 and leads a wide range of project types throughout New England, designing innovative 21st century educational spaces that incorporate technology, sustainability and function. Steve has more than 20 years of experience designing and leading educational projects, and is exceptionally adept at listening to a client’s needs and transforming their vision into design reality. He is very active in the community and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Lowell Community Health Center.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University.
Nico joined the firm in 2014; with over 15 years of experience she is an accomplished Interior Designer, Manager and Space Planner with a career long focus on Healthcare Environments. She is well known and respected for her ability to communicate design ideas with clients, consultants and technical staff. She is an advocate for the Interior Design profession and instructs a course through the IIDA for those seeking their NCIDQ certification.
Nico holds a Master of Arts in Interior Design from Suffolk University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
